Established in 1943, Dogan Ofset is an internationally competitive printing Company offering outstanding quality and a variety of services. Foreseeing the future of heat-set web offset technology, Dogan Ofset installed the first heat-set offset web press in 1976.
Dogan Media Group’s acquisition of Dogan Ofset in 1994 breathed new life into the commercial printing industry. Dogan Ofset is equipped with heat-set web and sheet-fed offset presses for the production of magazines, inserts, brochures, catalogs, newspapers, directories and books. As part of its ongoing investment program, Dogan Ofset installed two new heat-set web offset press and a new tower semicommercial machines, in 2002 and 2008 respectively, raising daily production capacity to five million signatures.
With the largest print capacity not only in Turkey but also in the Middle East and Balkans area, Dogan Ofset controls 60% of the offset printing market in Turkey. The company prints magazines, supplements, brochures and inserts. The company increased its third-party sales successfully, which constitutes now 80% of its revenues. The remaining 20% of revenues are derived from group companies.
Dogan Ofset invested continuously to update and modernize its machine park.
The machine park comprises two 32 and two 16 page (A4) web offset machines and a 4 tower semicommercial printing machine with a capacity of two 32, four 16 or one 64 page of 27.5 cm that will enable to meet deadlines with impeccable finishing. In postprint section there are 5 saddle stitching lines and 2 glue (hotmelt,PUR) binding lines for fast and quality product binding. There are also folding machines and guillotine trimmers, In addition to two folding machines, the Company has a fully automated binding line equipped with computerized controls that permits the handling of 12.000 perfect bound books. Additionally, five saddle-stitching lines produce totally 33.000 products per hour. Insert stations, different strapping and shrink-wrapping machines and shrink-wrap pallet packaging units round out the post print equipment. The total package ensures quality, capacity and low labor costs, which have earned Dogan Ofset a fundamental competitive advantage in the European market.
In the third quarter of 2002, Dogan Ofset launched two lines of Computer-to-Plate (CTP) systems having a plate processing speed of 30 plates/hour and incorporating state-of-the-art laser plate imposers. Its finishing line adds extended facilities to serve global and local customers with higher quality, speed and flexibility.
Dogan Ofset remains continuously committed to quality and improvement. In 1999, the Company moved to a new 15.000 square meter facility that was built to accommodate steady growth and development. Dogan Ofset was the first printing Company in Turkey to earn ISO 9002 Quality Assurance Certificate; it actively implements the Total Quality Management System. Dogan Ofset has also applied for and completed the necessary work to qualify for the Environmental Protection Program, which is to be certified with ISO 14001. These steps are necessary to ensure Dogan Ofset’s continued position in the forefront of the printing industry.
With high print capacity and quality, broad service coverage, web and sheet-fed printing capability, a new machine park, a large customer base, a young workforce of 250 and a finely tuned distribution organization, Dogan Ofset is on track to become an international center for printing in the 21st century.
